Abstract: Volume II/25 is a supplemented and revised edition of the preceding volumes II/7, II/15, II/21 and II/23 containing up to date information on inorganic and organic polyatomic molecules. All experimental methods for the determination of quantitative structural data of free molecules have been considered: microwave, infrared, Raman, electronic and photoelectron spectroscopy as well as electron diffraction. The data obtained by these methods have been critically evaluated and compiled. They are presented separately for each molecule, together with a schematic figure of the structure and the original literature.

Abstract: The volume II/27 has been divided into three subvolumes according to the classes of compounds: Subvolume A: Diamagnetic susceptibility and magnetic anisotropy of inorganic and organometallic compounds; Subvolume B: Diamagnetic susceptibility of organic compounds, oils, paraffins and polyethylenes; Subvolume C: Diamagnetic susceptibility and magnetic anisotropy of organic compounds. The data presented in this volume are based on the literature survey of the chemical abstracts up to 2005. The calculated values of diamagnetic susceptibility of organic compounds in the present subvolume II/27B are presented along with their experimental values. They have been calculated with the use of structural parameters in structural formula by using different theoretical methods available in the literature.

Abstract: Photoelectron spectroscopy has matured considerably during the last decade. The experimental techniques were improved markedly. Photon line sources and,in particular, synchrotron radiation sources are now routinely available in many places. The volume summarizes data on the bulk electronic structure of solids. Besides the photoelectron results, a limited set of other data (such as lattice constants and work functions) useful in the context of band structure information is presented.

Abstract: This new volume of Landolt-Börnstein consits of two subvolumes. A on Diffusion in Semiconductors and B on Diffusion in Non-Metallic Solides. This separation was necessary, because the field and the number of data is too large to be compressed into a single volume only. This separation - we hope - also reflects the expected difference in the interets of potential users.

Abstract: This subvolume containes selected data on heats of mixing (excess enthalpies) of binary liquid mixtures of organic and inorganic nonelectrolytes, including aqueous-organic systems, in broad ranges of temperature, pressure, and composition. All the data are extracted from the original literature published from 1957 to 2003. The printed volume presents tables for 800 representative mixtures. The CD-ROM displays all these data, as well as 2853 additional data files, in PDF format and in a fully documented computer readable standard electronic file (SELF) format. Moreover, the ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system (substances and mixtures), author(s), source and year of publication. Moreover it allows the correlation of the numerical data with several equations and the display of the original data and of the correlated data in tabular and graphical form.

All the data are extracted from the original literature published from 1957 to 2005. The names of the authors, the titles of the publications, and the exact references are given. Estimated uncertainties are reported. The printed volume presents tables for 314 representative systems. The CD-ROM displays all these data, as well as 134 additional data files, in PDF format and in fully documented computer readable standard electronic files (SELF and ELDATA)t. Moreover, the ELBT-program includes a comprehensive bibliographical database on heats of mixing and solution measurements published in the period 1853-2005 for 10867 two- to six-component systems consisting of organic or inorganic electrolytes and nonelectrolytes, ionic liquids, alloys, fused salts, polymers and other materials. The ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system (substances, mixtures, and solutions), author(s), source and year of publication. The software on the CD-ROM allows the correlation of the numerical data with several equations and the display of the original data and of the correlated data in tabular and graphical form. In order to facilitate the storage, exchange and use of the data, the ELBT-program of this volume allows importation of the information of SELF and ELDATA files, as well as of the files containing the results of correlations into Spreadsheet ML documents.

Abstract: This volume is a compilation of vapor–liquid equilibrium data on subcritical binary single-phase or two-phase liquid–liquid systems. All the components are well-defined pure substances, which are organic or inorganic nonelectrolytes, including low-melting ionic liquids and water. The present database contains numerical data for 3316 systems. The book reproduces in tables and graphs the numerical values for only 802 binary mixtures, chosen to be representative of all the compound classes and property types. The full set of data is given on the CD–ROM accompanying the book. Most data files contain experimental data compiled from the original literature published from 1929 to mid 2006. The CD-ROM displays all these data in PDF format and in fully documented computer readable standard electronic files (SELF and ELDATA). The ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system, author(s), source and year of publication. It also includes the bibliographical database of ELDATA, EVLM’2006, giving 13471 references from 1888 through mid 2006 to experimental vapor–liquid equilibrium in mixtures and solution.

Abstract: Diffusion – defined as mass, amount, or particle transport process – is the most essential transport property besides viscosity and thermal conductivity. Diffusion is widely used in nature, technical and scientific applications, ranging from diffusion in all kinds of gases, liquids, solids, electrolytes and their mixtures. Due to the large amount of data, the volume LB IV/15 "Diffusion in Gases, Liquids, and Electrolytes" is divided into three subvolumes. Part A: Gases in Gases, Liquids and their Mixtures; Part B: Liquids in Liquids and Liquid Mixtures; Part C: Ions and Electrolytes in Liquids, Electrolytes and Molten Salts. The presented subvolume A includes the main chapters Measurement Methods, Diffusion in Pure Gases, Diffusion in Gaseous Mixtures, Diffusion of Gas/Vapor in Gases or Liquids and Diffusion of Gases in Solution. Due to the very different and widespread measurement methods, a precise description of these methods is given.

Abstract: This Landolt-Börnstein volume IV/17 is a supplement to the volume IV/6 "Static Dielectric Constants of Pure Liquids and Binary Liquid Mixtures" and provides dielectric constant data published in the years 1991-2006. Included in this volume are static dielectric constants of pure liquids and binary liquid mixtures at different temperatures and saturation vapor pressures including liquid elements, inorganic liquids, organic liquids and their mixtures. Not all published data could be included in the printed version, but the electronic version contains all available data and references.

Abstract: This critical compilation of virial coefficients of pure gases was prepared from the virial coefficient database at the Thermodynamics Research Center, formerly at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas and now located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Boulder, Colorado. The virial coefficient data in this compilation will be of interest to the theoretical chemist as it includes the many sets of accurate gas imperfection data which have been determined over the past twenty years by improved methods of gas density determination, by isochoric Burnett coupling methods and from speed of sound measurements, as well as by the more traditional techniques.

Abstract: Critically evaluated experimental data covering the densities of organic compounds are essential for both scientific and industrial applications. Knowledge of densities is important in many areas, including custody transfer of materials, product specification, development of various predictive methods, and for characterizing compounds and estimating their purity. This volume contains tables with the original literature data along with their estimated uncertainties and the evaluated data in both numerical form and as coefficients to equations with selected statistical information. When data cover a sufficient temperature range, graphical plots of the deviations of the experimental data from the recommended equation are given. A Chemical Name Index contains the IUPAC names for the compounds, as well as alternate names that often appear in practice. Also includes a Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number Index and a list of References.
