Abstract: Volume II/24 presents the spectroscopic data on diamagnetic and paramagnetic molecules as well as on molecular ions and radicals up to date considering the publications up to and partly including 1997. The spectroscopic information collected in this volume has been obtained principally from gas phase microwave measurements. Volume II/24 is a supplement to volumes II/4, II/6, II/14, and II/19 and is planned to appear in five subvolumes, the last of which will contain the substance index taking into account all molecules worked at since 1967 in the volumes mentioned and will provide cross references to and between all tables of these. The present subvolume II/24A contains the general introduction and tables of rotational and centrifugal distortion constants of diamagnetic diatomic, linear and symmetric-top molecules, i.e. data which roughly specifies the frequencies of the rotational transitions of these types of rotors.

Abstract: Photoelectron spectroscopy has matured considerably during the last decade. The experimental techniques were improved markedly. Photon line sources and,in particular, synchrotron radiation sources are now routinely available in many places. The volume summarizes data on the bulk electronic structure of solids. Besides the photoelectron results, a limited set of other data (such as lattice constants and work functions) useful in the context of band structure information is presented.

Abstract: Some years after the publication of Vol. III/11 and its supplement III/18 dealing with elastic, piezoelectric, pyroelectric and optical properties of crystals, a complete recompilation of the data of these volumes and of new data was performed. Because of the growth of this subject matter it was found convenient to divide the material into four volumes, III/29a and b for the low frequency properties and III/30a and b for high frequency propertiesof dielectric crystals. The first subvolume III/29a contains exclusively second and higher order elastic constants including temperature and pressure coefficients.

Abstract: While vols. III/29 A, B (published in 1992 and 1993, respectively) contain the low frequency properties of dielectric crystals, in vol. III/30 the high frequency or optical properties are compiled. The present and first subvolume 30 A contains piezooptic and elastooptic constants, linear and quadratic electrooptic constants and their temperature coefficients, and relevant refractive indices. Subvolume 30 B will cover second and third order nonlinear optical susceptibilities. For the reader's convenience an alphabetical formula index and an alphabetical index of chemical, mineralogical and technical names for all substances of volumes 29 A, B and 30 A are included.

Abstract: This subvolume containes selected data on heats of mixing (excess enthalpies) of binary liquid mixtures of organic and inorganic nonelectrolytes, including aqueous-organic systems, in broad ranges of temperature, pressure, and composition. All the data are extracted from the original literature published from 1957 to 2003. The printed volume presents tables for 800 representative mixtures. The CD-ROM displays all these data, as well as 2853 additional data files, in PDF format and in a fully documented computer readable standard electronic file (SELF) format. Moreover, the ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system (substances and mixtures), author(s), source and year of publication. Moreover it allows the correlation of the numerical data with several equations and the display of the original data and of the correlated data in tabular and graphical form.

All the data are extracted from the original literature published from 1957 to 2005. The names of the authors, the titles of the publications, and the exact references are given. Estimated uncertainties are reported. The printed volume presents tables for 314 representative systems. The CD-ROM displays all these data, as well as 134 additional data files, in PDF format and in fully documented computer readable standard electronic files (SELF and ELDATA)t. Moreover, the ELBT-program includes a comprehensive bibliographical database on heats of mixing and solution measurements published in the period 1853-2005 for 10867 two- to six-component systems consisting of organic or inorganic electrolytes and nonelectrolytes, ionic liquids, alloys, fused salts, polymers and other materials. The ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system (substances, mixtures, and solutions), author(s), source and year of publication. The software on the CD-ROM allows the correlation of the numerical data with several equations and the display of the original data and of the correlated data in tabular and graphical form. In order to facilitate the storage, exchange and use of the data, the ELBT-program of this volume allows importation of the information of SELF and ELDATA files, as well as of the files containing the results of correlations into Spreadsheet ML documents.

Abstract: This volume is a compilation of vapor–liquid equilibrium data on subcritical binary single-phase or two-phase liquid–liquid systems. All the components are well-defined pure substances, which are organic or inorganic nonelectrolytes, including low-melting ionic liquids and water. The present database contains numerical data for 3316 systems. The book reproduces in tables and graphs the numerical values for only 802 binary mixtures, chosen to be representative of all the compound classes and property types. The full set of data is given on the CD–ROM accompanying the book. Most data files contain experimental data compiled from the original literature published from 1929 to mid 2006. The CD-ROM displays all these data in PDF format and in fully documented computer readable standard electronic files (SELF and ELDATA). The ELBT-program allows the fast search of data according to property type, chemical system, author(s), source and year of publication. It also includes the bibliographical database of ELDATA, EVLM’2006, giving 13471 references from 1888 through mid 2006 to experimental vapor–liquid equilibrium in mixtures and solution.

Abstract: Diffusion – defined as mass, amount, or particle transport process – is the most essential transport property besides viscosity and thermal conductivity. Diffusion is widely used in nature, technical and scientific applications, ranging from diffusion in all kinds of gases, liquids, solids, electrolytes and their mixtures. Due to the large amount of data, the volume LB IV/15 "Diffusion in Gases, Liquids, and Electrolytes" is divided into three subvolumes. Part A: Gases in Gases, Liquids and their Mixtures; Part B: Liquids in Liquids and Liquid Mixtures; Part C: Ions and Electrolytes in Liquids, Electrolytes and Molten Salts. The presented subvolume A includes the main chapters Measurement Methods, Diffusion in Pure Gases, Diffusion in Gaseous Mixtures, Diffusion of Gas/Vapor in Gases or Liquids and Diffusion of Gases in Solution. Due to the very different and widespread measurement methods, a precise description of these methods is given.

Abstract: This critical compilation of virial coefficients of pure gases was prepared from the virial coefficient database at the Thermodynamics Research Center, formerly at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas and now located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Boulder, Colorado. The virial coefficient data in this compilation will be of interest to the theoretical chemist as it includes the many sets of accurate gas imperfection data which have been determined over the past twenty years by improved methods of gas density determination, by isochoric Burnett coupling methods and from speed of sound measurements, as well as by the more traditional techniques.

Abstract: This ninth volume in Group IV of the renowned Landolt-Börnstein series considers and describes the electrochemical processes at the boundaries of electrodes and electrolytes. The book first presents a thorough overview of the field of electrochemistry, to impart a precise understanding of the involved systems, and secondly collects all relevant data of electrochemical systems as reported up to the present time. Phenomena and data are reported and considered from the constitutive viewpoints of electrochemistry, which also form the five chapters of Subvolume A: electrode potentials - cell voltages - electrode potentials of zero charge - free enthalpy of adsorption - exchange current densities. Each chapter opens with an introduction to its particular subject, and then presents the data in concise tables, arranged, as far as possible, according to the examined values.
